car sale via the bay.
open auction wth starting price £999
sold @£999
Dealer guy turns up and starts haggling about the price ......
Surely he's bound to pay the £999 ?

How can he turn up and then start to haggle? surely he's already agreed to pay £999 ?

What do you ebayers think?

Deal is done for £850 but I feel hard done by ..... he agreed to pay £999

I'll leave positive feedback with a caveat but I feel hard done by.

opinions?

He agreed the price.... he should pay that price or naff off!

Only way id drop the price is if there was something wrong with the car that wasnt advertised that was later discovered....

He's had you off for £149 I feel!

To be fair if you were open to it then its fair. I bet if youd said no and asked him to do one (politely of course) he'd have handed over the agreed amount.

To be fair I always try it on as well, you're not the first person to get mugged, far from it.

Think positive - you got rid, you don't need to relist and your life is easier. That's why you accepted the lower price and that's what he was counting on.

Not a chance, dealer or not, Auction price was set bid and you have paid fees on the whole £999.

So not only £150 threw away, £150 worth of fee's too I'd expect.

You shouldn't of done that, being nice doesn't always pay.
Can I have £149 aswell.

Also he had bid on the item already and drove to you, so there was little chance he would have left if you didn't lower the price.

If you were happy getting £850 then it's all good - a lesson learnt as well. A bit underhanded on his part but don't blame him for trying his luck.
