Hi Guys

Need to order a new TV tomorrow to be mounted in my new house. TV must have fresat built in as we dont have any digital in our area. Im thinking about getting the G10 but its quite expensive and was wondering if there are any other contenders i should consider ... Tv will be used for xbox / tv and the odd film usually connected to my laptop via HDMI

Responses are appreciated

I have the G10 and use it with Freesat. I love it, but then I suppose I would!

It can be had for around £700 with a 5-year warranty, so I've seen here recently, though whether that's a good price now I don't know. I paid £799 for mine with a bluray player before Christmas. It's also an 'old' model now.

Ive found it for £500 and wouldent want to spend anymore than that. ideally i would like to spend around £400 / 500 but would stretch if it was really worth the extra cash

As far as I'm aware the Panasonics are the only TVs which integrate Freesat so as mentioned the G10 is a great place to start and as you say you've already found one for £500 odd then go for it - great TVs!

Not sure about the retailer tho :p

Thanks :)

Would you guys go for a refurbished model ?

I can purchase for £500 and it comes with the 1 yr panasonic warranty ... Do you think its worth purchasing or am i better off spending the extra 100

I guess it will be a model thats been sent back to panasonic within 28 days and has been repaired refurbished and resent out

Cheers

Why did no-one tell you that the G10 is obsolete? The G20 has been out a few months. :p

The G20 is £850 + and ive been told offers not a lot more than the G10

its also double the price, for a £500 budget its a bargain tbh, i love mine, definatly worth the money .

I paid £669 with a 5 year warranty from that posh food shop ... says its going to take 2 weeks to deliver ... are they seriousssss

2 Weeks lol, do they even have stock then, i payed a bit less but i had staff discount, with the pana 5yr warranty, id give them a call tomorrow and check.

The G20 does offer quite a bit more if its what your looking for, if not than its not really worth the money.

Well there held at panasonic so we will have to see .... I cant see it taking any longer than a bloody week at most.

I evan get free install (which i dont bloody want) so going to have to tell the guys to just deliver it when they turn up at my door :p

I would have thought that THX settings and DLNA would be worth the extra alone? you could have had the G20 for £820 with 5 year warranty so i would have gone for that.

Saying that, i do love my G10.

I didnt want to spend £660 on a TV for my bedroom, i would have most probably been happy with a £400 LG or something :D and i was convinced into buying the G10 ... Im sure if i went for the G20 there would have been an evan better model that did my washing too but hey ho :D

Guys URGENT !!!

M+S have just called me over a week after i placed my order to say that they made a mistake and dont have it in stock. Im furious i really am, they said they would sell me a Panasonic TX-P42X20B for £699 (which is what its listed on there website for DUH) but it looks cheap to me but the women is telling me its better than the older G10 ? + I can get it at a large supermarket for £499 :p

To be honest after moving into our new house last thursday my room seems evan bigger than before and im thinking about perhaps if im spending so much money i should be getting a 47' or a 50' plasma ? Can i get a decent plasma for the 600 - £700 mark ? Dont LG do a very good model ?

Please help urgently i need to get this ordered

I hear the LG 50PK590 is a pretty decent screen, problem is it does not have free sat and this meens that i will have to have wires running down the wall (satelite & power are in the wall already as its a new build house which we specced)

Im not sure if i want a 50 in my bedroom mind you, its big room and i dont think it wil look too big but do LG also make a really good 42 or 47 ?

I need your guys help, i have no idea with tvs
