We need a mobile theme/sub-site

I find myself browsing OCuK more and more frequently on my iphone but the site is not very kind to a mobile browser and thus the whole experience is a bit of a pain in the behind.

It shouldn't be a difficult task for any web administrator, just set-up a script that detects the browser and forward on to the appropriate site, I have found a good example of a vbulletin site running a "mobile" style and it's been implemented well: http://forums.ilounge.com/index.php?styleid=7

I guess on the magic some pinching and zooming was needed, its perfect on the desire tho

I like it as it is. Mobile versions of sites tend to lack features, i like still having full control. iPhone and Desire seem fine for browsing the forums in landscape mode anyway.

Absolutely awesome on my SE c510 with opera mini. Suggest you get a better phone and browser.

On my iPhone just tilt the phone landscape and you can view the text clearly yet still get a whole page in , with the 4g I imagine with that stupid hi res screen you could see the whole page in portrait mode without a problem!

I fine it ok on my ipod touch. A lot of scrolling around in portrait (don't like landscape) but its ok.

Would be cool to have a mobile site though if it worked ok etc

I can see the whole site exactly as I see it on my computer, that's my point but everybody here is clearly superior to me in everyway and I will of course rush straight out and purchase a new htc desire, se c510 (lol?) and whatever else was suggested. <insert rolleyes>

Given out of the what, 14 is it now people who have posted here saying they don't have a problem with the site on their phones, just like the majority of people in other threads that have popped up, why would they change anything for a couple of people. You're just going to have to live with it... or get a different phone.

OK, I must have misinterpreted people's responses when I have mentioned this in other threads, my bad.

It's just my design/usability head thinking for me.
