The cars made to look like other cars thread..

The availability of cheap credit has lots to answer for, but the price makes me laugh, 13k will get me a proper M3, mind saying that it won't have as many e-bay fans and resistors attached....

With a remap they will do 0-60 in little over 5 seconds so 4.8 I guess is on the tenuous side of possible.

EDIT: I guess its within margin of error if someone timed it with a stopwatch :D

There is a 520D (iirc) in reading that is dressed up to look like an m5, even has some custom numberplate but i can't for the life of me remember what it was.

There was a thread about it on a bmw forum somewhere but I can't remember it :(

Dropping 2 seconds off the 0-60 with just a remap, i thought a remaped 330cd comes in around the 6 seconds to 60 sorta area?

How about a lovely Opel S4.

That one's a US import.

There's a company in Belgium that does that transformation, or at least used to, that I saw on a TV programme over here years back.
I've seen an R129 with an R230 'facelift' and TBH it didn't actually look that bad.
I knew something was off as soon as I saw it but it seemed to have been done pretty professionally.

And yes, I'm sure the cost certainly isn't worth the end result :p

I remember years ago when I went to collect my belongings from a crashed car I saw one of these

The effort people put into these they could make a fantastic kit car or unique mod. Why not be creative and do something different rather than mimic.

I almost like the look of the mx5 ones though (ignoring the aston similarities)

I'm the same. Time could be spent building some nice little thing like a locust or similar and get far more enjoyment out of it.

That Omega seems to have been done with original parts and it looks pretty realistic from the front and back. God knows why they went through all that effort though. You get inside and its an Omega :(

Excuse the terrible music:

I got it wrong. :o

I have to say I struggled to tell the difference until they opened the engine cover! Impressive kit, but I doubt they'll all be fitted that well. There'll be a lot of rubbish conversions done in a chav's driveway.

By the time you buy that kit, running gear, engine, trim and wheels you are going to be 25k in surely.

Just buy a proper car, what is wrong with these people.
