I order a htc desire, I entered my bank details, and all the usual garb to set up my contract.
I then waited for my next day delivery which never materalised, and 3 days later and an angry call, they realised they hadn't sent it to me and did it very quickly and it appeared today.
However the invoice had no detail on it, no prices, nothing but the codes for the phone.
There was no contract details in the delivery, and it came with a PAYG sim.
I phone t-mobile who I was ment to be set up with, and they have no record of me having a contract, in my name or at my address.
(I found this out, as I had tried to port my number and couldnt work out why they'd sent me a random sim)

So I have no contract, and didnt pay for the phone, yet it is sitting here.
Im very confused.

They don't seem to know there arses from their elbows though, and they messed me about a lot.
I probably will as the alternative could leave me with 2 contracts but the dishonest part of me is considering just ignoring them.
If people weren't so incompotent I wouldn't be thinking this.

First things first, when people recieved their contract phones, what contract details and sim instruction for porting did they recieve???

I've found that ordering phones online is a royal pain in the arse, now I just go online, find the best deals and go round town getting people to compare and compete, pick up a phone in a box with a contract signed there and then.

Possibly depends on who you ordered from as to what will happen. The big 5 have systems which will (usually) only send a phone after completing a whole series of events like setting up the customer details, new contract terms etc...

The mobiles.co.uk people will send the phone usually after sending an invoice to the big 5 with your details and go from there. As a pure guess I'd say 20% they won't contact you, 40% they will charge you in the future for the full price of the phone, 40% you'll get contacted or they will bill you anyway.

This happened to me when I bought one outright. Just turned up in a box with an invoice saying HTC Desire without even a price. However, this was a non contract sim free one so I wouldn't have expected much else tbh. If you should have a contract, I'm sure details will follow in a different pack with the sim etc?

none at all.

the contract sim came a few days after the handset too iirc

I just spoke to them ask whether the contract comes with the phone, and they said yes, it would be sent with the phone.
They have obviously sent me this phone out quickly because I complained about the delay, without the contract or anything else.

Ok, just got hold of t-mobile, and they have found my pending contract and ported my number.
Did seem odd.
