Picked the Accord up today - few minor niggles

Save you loads of money these cheap cars. 1 month in and It's already wiped out your first 6 months potential fuel savings with a repair bill.

Clutch still judder free?

I ask because my car judders ever so slightly on cold starts when pulling off if I don't give it a cm or so more throttle than normal so a fluid change might be worth looking at too perhaps. Your mention just reminded me because I've just gotten so used to applying more throttle *ahem* during commutes due to the morning rush getting out of Gosport ^_^

*facepalm*

It is indeed, feels very positive and smooth. My fluid was nearly black

So then, brake fluid change, clutch fluid change and an oil service all in the space of a month plus tax at the end of the month and on top of that just had new rear pads.

Cars = win :p

Yea, I'd probably have facepalmed once it all sunk in as well.

Wonder how much next month? ;)

No, it was a face palm due to the fact you followed my thread from beginning to end but you seem to have it in your head that I did it to save money on fuel . You either missed the point in an epic fashion or are just trolling....

Yes, old cars need fixing, it's not a surprise to me, it's not a surprise to you, so why keep bringing it up?

Anyway on the way home I noticed the ac was a LOT colder than after kwik fit did it. Uncomfortably cold sometimes! So it could be that kwik fit just cocked up somehow

Yea, I've no idea why I had that in my head. Probably something to do with the fact you mentioned on numerous occasions that you'd appreciate the lower monthly outgoings of running a more economical car.

So now you've got your more economical car but as its 10 years old you are, as expected, beginning to find that you are replacing fuel spend (and potentially a portion of the depreciation spend) with repair bill spend.

Yes extra fuel economy was a desirable but not the motivation for change, nor was it the only saving as has been explained 4,235 times already.

So let's just leave the financial appraisals and pee taking alone eh, nobody wants to read it, I don't need it so all it's achieving is unjustifiably massaging your ego.

A repair bill or two is neither a surprise nor a problem, so you needn't worry

Just one last question, then I'll shut up about it in this thread..

Including this repair bill, is it true that the monthly car outgoings have increased since selling the Saab?

Did it take as long as at Kwik Fit for this fella to recharge it out of interest?

Impossible to answer as the ac could be nothing, the condenser or something else. But if the ac fault is the condenser and the repair costs as quoted...

No.

Much quicker interestingly! But I was stood with him chatting as he did it and he explained everything he was doing :)

I have a sinking feeling the kwik twit posse have a rubbish machine.

I had my Jag done a few weeks ago at KF, i suppose it is a bit colder but not freezing and it took an hour.

Which did seem a long time to me.

This bloke did say he has seen similar things. Given there were no obvious leaks, it is a possibility they just didn't put enough gas in. It was so cold that I got sore hands on the way home!

He did say he regassed one that had been done at kwik fit, found there was plenty pressure but when he emptied the system there was almost no refrigerant in it. So it was full of something, but it wasn't the right gas!

This is why I can't stop asking, because you never make any sense. Nothing ever adds up and it always keeps me asking for more :( If everything you said made perfect sense I'd have nothing to keep being intruiged over. I'm really good when you start to make sense and stop contradicting yourself, but it just confuses me when we go back down to the road of having a different story every time you post :(

You've had the Honda a month, it's cost you probably £350 over the course of this month once this AC fault has been fixed at quoted price (Unless its 'nothing'), yet thats still cheaper than the Saab cost a month, even though you openly admitted to us that the Saab had cost you nothing but petrol on a monthly basis?

Did you drive the Saab around at 3mpg or something?!

Closer to 300 and I explained the savings previously. Given that I need to wait a few weeks to see what happens with the ac, it will put the monthly outgoings at about 150-200.

Why does it matter so much, why do you need to know every little detail?

I'm a bloke with a fairly nice accord who would appreciate some help with a few things. Forget eveything else if its easier, What's gone before is irrelevant, the financial discussions have been done to death and they aren't going to change anything now anyway. I'm happy with my purchase, the financial benefit is very much appreciated and I like the car

Hey, it's not as though I've not helped. I related a situation I'd had which pointed at the condenser being at fault hours before a professional told you it was.. likely the condenser at fault. So I'm useful as well as utterly baffled by your car buying habits.

I'm happy with my purchase

Thats what you said about the Saab when we criticised that purchase but point taken :p
