I spilt a jug of water on my macbook about 6 months ago. i was going to throw it away becuase at that time it didnt turn on

i just plugged in the chrager and it works fine but it wont charge. as asoon as you remove the charge it turns off

will a chnage of battery solve this?

Hey guys. I bought i new battery but now there is an 'x' over the battery size

in system profiler it still shows that there is no charge in the battery and the capacity is also zero

the new battery came half charged but when the adaptoer is inserted it wont charge the light just stays green

any ideas?

ive rested the pram and smu. in the menu bar it says no baterries available

cocounut battery just opens for 2 seconds and then closes

slim battery wont even open

battery health says unable to read battery data

thanks

If water has been sat on the board inside for 6 months it will have corroded all sorts away, most places won't even touch it once they see water damage.

If you're any where near my I'd gladly pull it apart and try cleaning the water residue out but I wouldn't hold out much hope after that length of time.

hello nick

thanks for you offer very kind of you but i didnt hold much hope myself. it works with the charger plugged in so ill just use it like that

thanks again

i dont mean to hijack this thread but has anyone ever had a macbook fully recover after water damage? a new logic board is too expensive for me and i spilled water on my macbook a few weeks back

recently i have been getting 'usb over current notice' popups, and i have nothing plugged into my usb ports, so i think there is still some water residue in there somewhere.

i havent removed the logic yet but is there any chance that i could get rid of these 'usb over current notice' popups if i clean off the water residue?

I got USB over current notices this week - but for an un-damaged 3 year old Macbook. I wouldn't be overly concerned.
is there anything i can do to stop them coming up or a way to automatically close them? i've been playing with applescript but so far have had no luck, they can get annoying when they popup when you in the middle of typing something!
