PC is fine, but when I throw 3D (games) my PC is just pants

Not BSOD, both my monitors will crash into a scan line or something very similar. Then I can hear the game sound in the background still. I leave it for a couple of secs and i begin to see my mouse on one of the screen after moving it around.

My friend has this exact same problem, I will be keeping an eye on this thread and hope you find the root of the problem.

Not BSOD. GSOD = Grey screen of death. Vertical stripes which can come in many colours but is often grey.

yes!

That is it. I ran OCCT and it did give my rig a good thrashing. Left it for 30min and looked stable. It did stutter a bit but kept on cucking along.

I played some Bad Company 2 last night and didn't crash last night. Tonight's job is to begin testing more and a bit of overclocking to get it back to stratch.

Oh dear, i thought your title said for a moment...

PC is fine, but when i throw it across the room...

Right, stock works well. Been testing this over the weekend.

I'm been upping my FSB to something like 2.8GHZfrom 2.4GHZ. Today I switched on my PC and it looks like its reverted all changes. When it was at 2.8GHZ, i used Prime95 and it worked well, no crashes or anything.

Is my CMOS battery dying?

Changed the CMOS battery last night with overclocked settings. And still's reverted back to default settings. Why isn't my motherboard holding up with the settings? It boots fine with the new settings.
:(

To get to the root of the problem I wouldn't be overclocking.

Do you ahve the latest bios installed as newer ones address certain issues. It may not play nicely with the 5850. Test the psu.

Sorry guys, I forgot to update this - my graphics has been fine now. It doesn't freeze up when throwing any intensive 3d games at it.

Just annoyed to the fact I can't keep the overclocked settings.
