I need to send a parcel (60cm x 40cm x 2cm and ~500g) from Northern Ireland to the USA. I would normally use Parcel2go but they won't quote for collection from Northern Ireland.

I have tried direct with the lieks of FedEx, UPS and DHL but the prices are extortionate compared to the usual prices from the likes of Parcel2go.

Can anyone recommend a parcel delivery company who offer services with FedEx, UPS, DHL and the likes but at discounted rates?

It needs to be traceable and guaranteed before next Thursday.

Thanks :)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give them a try.

Why not just use royal mail?
The service isn't traceable and isn't guaranteed to arrive in the time required. the next available service from the Post Office was Parcel Force at £50.

Are you looking at a different service than me? From what I can see, Airsure only offers delivery confirmation rather than tracking and takes a minimum of 4 days rather than being guaranteed to arrive within 4 days.

Yeah Airsure isn't great. Maybe worth saving the money if you had the time but like you say ain't guaranteed to arrive in 4 days. Courier is much better for speed and full tracking.

Most courier services don't guarantee delivery either unless you pay £50 or something. Unfortunately since he's left it so late he's going to have to pay a lot to have it guaranteed within 4 days.

The thing is, most of them do. And significantly cheaper rates are available through some of the sites mentioned in here.

So I eventually settled for Parcel Force Global Express. A 24 hour service to the USA at the princely sum of £58.99. I sent it last Thursday 8th Jiuy. It's STILL in Coventry. I'm quite happy that I can claim my money back since it was bloody extortionate but 5 days later it still hasn't even left the country.

I paid a lot extra so it would arrive before tomorrow and it doesn't look like it will. Gah.

I once sent a harddrive to the USA using airsure to have some data put on it. It got there just fine and is obviously cheaper than the couriers.

When it was sent back to me, despite having to pay about $50 to them to ship it back, the courier they used ended up with it being stuck in customs in the UK for nearly two weeks!
