Manhunt in Northumbria on BBC

Rothbury and Northumberland are some of my favourite parts of the world to go and get away from it all and while I do not know the area like the back of my hand. I do appreciate the implications in searching such an area with its countless fields, hills, ravines, becks, caves, old mineshafts and rivers.

You only have to fire up Google maps to get an idea of sheer scale of the area they are trying to cover.

The serverity of all this only really clicked with me yesterday. I found out the initial shooting happened a stone's throw from where I work. I knew it was close but I had no idea how close.

It further sunk in when I saw 4 armed police with just chilling at the side of the road on my way home. It was a very surreal moment.

you should have done an emergency stop, jumped out of your car and shouted bang bang at the police while ducking behing the car door, they would really love that joke and it would be really really funny...

(dont try that btw)

Which in your eyes could be what? The way i see it is a man who knows he will go to jail for a long time is on the run.. he might not even have any intentions of killing again despite what the letter or whatever said. One man isn't exactly easy to find, could be 100miles from where everything happened, even more..
Or he could have just shot himself somewhere so.

Some people go unseen for years and years.. and most likely will never be found

This post confusues me, you are agreeing with me, but seem to be asking me why I think most of the work is behind the scenes?

Well to clarify.. You have a nice big public effort to keep locals happy, whilst delivering as little information to the media as you can. The media focus on the big hoo harr, and you can get on in peace tracking, and following leads.

The press conferences are the best way to see this. They give away so little, and keep everything so vague so that the important information is kept away from the suspect and anyone else who may help him.

So Chief Constable Sue(yes I need a hairdo) Sim is asking the military for advice lmfao...

Why did she not do that days ago.

Well with everything the police don't say much so most things are kept 'secret' but the question was sort of like "Well what do you think they are doing behind the scenes"... isn't it as 'simple' as searching the incoming cars, and the area.. what else can they even do
