i bought a BA flight to the US on miles + cash.

business class out first class back. spent 100k + miles

just had my statement through and no miles have been deducted... does this mean there has been a screw up and the total cost of my flight was only the£300????

surely i am free to spend again..?

I'd check, do they take them instantly or not until you have actually flown. Personally I can't believe you've blown all those air miles on such a disapointing flight.

That's quite a few miles. I think I can get business class flight to the US with United for about 40k miles and £250.

The only reason to spend airmiles is to fly business or first class.

I think a work friend had the same thing happen to him, i'd leave it until you have flown and if after a few months the points are still there, then work away!

Enjoy first class!

I'm not familiar with the BA scheme but in my experience the miles are deducted instantaneously. Don't spend them elsewhere. If could be that when you go to check in the ticket will show up as unpaid. In fact, with that in mind I'd contact them and clear it up before travelling.

I turned up for a flight once and for whatever reasoni it was showing on their system as unpaid. I had to bust out my credit card and pay for it at the airport to get on the flight and sort it out after. If the ticket hasn't been paid, you could turn up at check in and find out you need to pay full whack since they cant process redemption flights on the day.

If no miles have been deducted, keep schtum.

Lufthansa have forgotten to deduct miles for upgrades in the past for me. Don't say anything and they won't notice.

I have used ba miles a few times and they have always been deducted straight away. if you want a definitive answer head over to the flyertalk fotum, there are some very experienced ba fliers on there, but I think you in the clear.

off on a tangent , I've got my second trip in F with ba coming up, I can't wait. hope the new F suite is rolled out on the plane I'm on cos it looks nicer.
