firefilesuk - Please leave motors and never return you ignorant ignorant person.

now now, this is a discussion forum, lets not have personal attacks;)

if i damaged someones car significantly i would probably own up under some sense of guilt, the op however was refering to something very insignificant.

Just had a phonecall with im and said about going to that place my step dads mate owns and he wasnt to sure about it due to he didnt know if job would be done right or not then rings back later saying that his mates mate can do the panel for £329 due to it been metalic paint had to kinda laugh and say yeah np go through the insurance for it

£329 for that :/

Don't you have friends who know someone who works in a dealer bodyshop maybe? They'd be able to do sort it out at a lot less than half that quote and acquire a new customer at the same time!

thats taking the **** . like someone else said id deny everything. does he have witnesses? 329 quid for a bottle of tcut and some elbow grease! lol

He is proberly just talking rubbish tbh just a easy £329 in his pocket as if the panel is done goona stand out to rest of car

Yeah he had a few of his mates with him at the time

Claim that your door was already open and that he opened his door onto yours.

He's hoping to replace the ****ty panel he's neglected for a nice shiny one at your expense.

People still seem to be forgetting it was the OPs sister who damaged someone elses car. All this "tell him to do one" or "tell him you'll polish it out" "try and do him over" stuff is hilarious.

It's not the OPs decision to make! The third party (Mr Saxo) is FULLY in control of the situation because HE is the one who's had his property damaged! You lose the rights to call the shots when you damage something belonging to another person.

It would be lovely if he was being really easy going about it, but he isn't, and he doesn't have to be - life is annoying like that.

Getting your insurance stung for a few hundred quid for a mark that looks like it could come off by spitting on your hand and rubbing it quickly is taking the **** just a little excessively though I feel.

I certainly wouldn't be making life easy for him when he so clearly seems to be trying it on. Fair enough if the other party is fair about it but if they're going to use it as an opportunity to take advantage, I sure as hell don't see any reason to make life any easier for them.

Some people are easy to deal with, some people aren't. I nudged a van in a queue of cars on a bypass a few years ago, my fault totally. We got out, surveyed the damage, the van driver shrugged his shoulders and said don't worry about it. Result!
My mum nudged someone a few months later at a roundabout when she didn't expect them to stop. Put a small stress line in the colour coded bumper of the car in front. They insisted on full insurance job, approved main dealer repair and all that jazz. But it wasn't for her to say that was inappropriate, it was for the insurance companies to decide between them.

The OP really doesn't have a leg to stand on. It's annoying but there we go.

LOL.

£329 for that! Look at the amount of key scratches are on the door already! The div cant even find the lock for his key without making a mess of the paint work.

why is it costing so much at mates rates ? surely its a t cut/touch up pen job to make it blend with the rest of the panel/car.

i reckon if you remind him how tiny the mark you left was and offer £50 ' compensation' the problem would go away

otherwise its insurance , you argue that you only left the tiny mark , he argues that you caused all the other dings , insurance goes 50/50 and you both lose way more than that £50

im not saying this is right by the way but i just think the lad your dealing with would probably be happy with that

Was thinking that the £329 is to remove any dents in the panel also which wonder if he will try to claim for on the insurance
