E6600 @ 1596mhz...why?

I've not touched it in bios/attempted to overclock it yet it shows it running at 1596 instead of the 2.4ghz :s

Oddly when I try to use cropper tool in W7 it jumps up to 2.4, but it periodically shows 1.5..

Is this anything to worry about :S?

Ah thank you! I figured it must be the other core kicking into action with the snipper tool, but it seemed inconsistent!
