anyone got Nexen N2000's or Pirelli p6000's? thinking of fitting 4 to vw passat but not sure which are better, looking for quiet and smooth as I'm driving to paris next week,

thanks

Not tried the Nexen, but have had the P6000's before and rated them ......

...... as one of the worst tyres I've had the misfortune of buying. Really really bad, particularly in the wet. Avoid.

Gotta say I'm not exactly a petrol head but I've been very happy with my Pirelli P6000's and they have lasted around 20k to 25k miles (which I'm amazed at).

On the lookout for new tyres now tho.

I've used both the Nexens and Sportrac 3s, albeit on different cars. I wouldn't go so far as saying the Nexens are terrible, but the Vreds are much better all round, particularly their grip in the wet which is outstanding for a mid-range tyre.

I hate it every time I read here how terrible the P6000's are, my wifes car has them on the back with P6's on the front :( But I think for her style of driving, to and from work and to and from shops don't think they're being particularly stressed.

On my Focus with P6000s on the front (on when I bought it) I got understeer going around roundabouts

With day to day driving in womens runabouts the main concern is stopping distance. Some of the Chinese junk is down right dangerous !

Pirelli's not made in China is it?

TBH, I took the wifes car on a 300 mile round trip a few months ago, had to take her car as needed the load space the hatchback gives and I never really noticed any problems.

no, but thats my point - at this size you dont have decent tyres available to you because the manufacturers dont think you'll be needing them in cars this slow, so just avoid the chinese junk and you'll be fine.
