letter from orange

got a letter from orange this morning. inside was a single piece of paper titled 'remittance advice' and at the bottom a cheque for the grand sum ~£39. what's the deal? no explaining letter or anything. don't want to go out of my way to go and cash it to find out they want it back.

Have you recently cancelled a contract? This normally happens when that occurs as you pay line rental monthly in advance and therefore can be due money back after disconnection.

nope although I took a second contract out with them 2 months ago.

Did you overpay by a month with a past direct debit or anything? It is likely to be a refund of some description.

if I did it would be on my older contract which is my sisters bill :-)
