As the title says.

I've seen / heard the comment "late summer". Anyone heard anything firmer?

Got a hankering to replace my much modded Chieftec case (it's done good service the last 10 years or so!) with something a bit better and I'm frankly starting to vanish up my own bottom from reading so many case reviews! You know that feeling when you sort of loop round and start watching the same YouTube videos again and thinking "hey... I've looked at this before"!

I rather like the Lian Li PC-B25FB ... but with only 275mm clearance for the graphics card, don't think this is too good. What with the ever increasing size of Graphics cards. I wonder if I could mod the removable drive bay to increase the clearance? Whoops... moving off topic.

wow is all I can say, this I want as my next case !

I was thinking why cant manufacturers actually understand graphic cards are so long so either make it wider/longer cases or better have a more intelligent hdd stacking system at front.

Looks like an engineer used there nogg and did just that.

Also digg the dual rad support on the top of the case you can use the 200mm top fan as an air vent...now all one needs is for cool it to release there dual rad cooler for gpus ;)

And its midi size doesnt take up half a room space

Yep... Could not agree with you more.

Every case I've looked at (and God knows how many that is now!). Has had something I don't like.

EG.

- Not enough room for looong graphics cards
- No hole in the back plate for fitting retention bracket for heavy CPU coolers.... or hole in wrong place... or hole not big enough.
- HD drive bays not really "that" well thought out.
- No filters on intake fans. Or even stranger, not on all of them (IE. PSU does not get one).
- Either to many, or not enough slots for optical bays (OK... how many do you really want!?). Three in my case (excuse the pun).
- Case lit up like Blackpool illuminations (fair enough... some like this... but I don't).
- No real thought given to sound deadening. OK... some case are not bad (EG. The Fractal, Antec 183). But a lot sound like you've got a turbo vacuum cleaner sat next to you.

and I could go on.

The Corsair looks so far to be closest to what I'm looking for.
IE. Mid tower and not looking like it's been designed by a 13 year old on crack.

The specs are up on Corsairs site, so fingers crossed it's not too long to wait now. And most importantly, I'm not disappointed when it comes out and gets reviewed.

Now if I was being real picky. I would prefer it in black. But I suppose with a name like "Corsair Graphite 600T", I suppose I'm stuck with the colour!

PS. Not saying that there aren't some nice cases out there. Just that none totally fill all my requirements.

I really don't see the fuss over hole for cpu retention brackets as we all know installing cpu cooler to the board with the board out of the case is 100x easier making that hole quite pointless really.

I think the price will disappoint some people can see this being at least £140 makes sense to them to have their low tier 140 mid 170(700d) and high 200 (800d)

Too much plastic though.

You make some good points.

Emmm maybe I should now add "removable MB tray" to my list of wants. So that's the Corsair ruled out now! Damn...

At this rate I shall never replace my current case.

PS. I sort of suspect you will turn out to be right on the price. Though as the American price is $149, it would be rather a rip off for us over here in the good old UK. But then again, what's new about that.

Would be pretty much pointless releasing a case thats £120-150 if its a midi highend tower cos one could spend the extra nad get the 700-800d anyhow.

Hopefully its priced acordingly to other high end midi towers ie around £99

O'well... pretty much decided to go for the Antec P183. The only 2 things I had originally dismissed this case for, were:

- No cut out on mobo tray to access retention plate for CPU coolers. Yes I know that a removable mobo tray would be ideal.. but not many (any?) midi tower cases have this. I now see that ther has been a revision to the P183 and this now has one.

- Had / have this illogical (logical?) fear of vertically mounted HD's. Based on the fact that the only 2 HD's that I've had fail in recent years, have been vertically mounted ones. From extensive reading on the good old Internet, this would now (has it really ever?) been a problem.

P183 has also come down a fair bit since it first came out and now looks a pretty good buy. Only down side is having to purchase two extra fans for the front. Probably Sharkoon Silent Eagles.

Just got to press that order button.....

O'dear... changed my mind again. And have finally ordered the lian li pc-b25fb.
Always fancied an aluminium case and black goes better with my other kit.

Just not allowed to buy a graphics card longer than 290mm! Which should be OK for a GTX 470 or 480 at a later date.Though I still reckon that I should be able to mod the HD cage to maybe cut it in half (still have room for 3 HD's). This would allow loads of room should I need it.

I'm all excited now....

PS. Just lets hope my IDE lead will reach the ludicrous place that Gigabyte put it on the GA-P35-DS3L mobo.

You know what mikeo sometimes u just gotta get something ordered ;)

I was on the quest for the perfect case but theres no such thing, I recall spending £150 on a lian li tower case and then thought why are the panels so tinny/thin and low quality.... Theres always pros and cons to any decent case.

Heck this corsair looks good but one thing ive noticed which is a major fail is the side cooling.... it doesnt appear to have any !

I hope the final one they add a 140mm fan or option for it since looking at the coolermaster haf X, thats got cooling and cooling for the hot gpus perfectly nailed down. Id hate to have to buy a top end high end pricey case like a Corsair 600-700-800d and have average gpu cooling considering gpus run so hot now adays.

Atm a coolermaster haf x gets my vote due to the 200mm side fan blowing cold air onto the gpu and all parts inside, and best of all its available to buy today :)

Yep... I hear what you say. I've been going mad trying to find that "perfect case". I was starting to feel like Rodney Reynolds (aca 3DgameMan from YouTube) and I were best mates. I had even started saying "hi there Rodney" when the vid clips stated! It's at this point I usually decide that I had better get something ordered.

HAF X looks great but too big for me. And unluckily, with the best cooling comes dust and noise. Also had to be mid tower and not much more than 500mm deep.

I'll post some pics on the case thread when I'm sorted.
