How do you get rid of stress and and anxiety?

Doing some form of exercise might well help, it gives you something else to focus on and the release of endorphins should make you feel better.

When you say not finding a job - are you going for specific jobs or just any job at all? If the former it might make you feel better to go for a job even if it isn't ideal just to get yourself out of the current situation.

Anxiety isn’t nice. I know, suffered with this all my life. You get that gut wrenching sick feeling in your belly, sometimes it can be so bad you don’t feel hungry, you feel bloated and cold sweets break out etc…

I got them so bad they eventually turn into panic attacks. I’ve been on and off meds in the past for it, none really worked, been in for CBT which can help but I found its all about fight and flight. You can run or hide or face the problem head on.

Normally I pluck up the courage to face the problem head on. Alcoholic drinks are murder for anxiety, best to stay off them. Instead as suggested, exercise is fantastic, swimming is relaxing, and walks are great. Fresh air and talking are good as well.

I know its not easy to deal with stress that eventually leads to Anxiety, it might be a Generalized anxiety disorder might be worth talking with you GP.

As said, with you currently out of work, this’ll be playing on your mind and it seems to be conditioned into us as humans that if we’ve not got work we’re worthless. We’re not. Go and talk to someone and hopefully you’ll start the road to getting over this..

Good luck

Im really stressed and not finding a job and im currently thinking about going back to uni to do a masters.

I also have a few health issues which im really stressed about so the stress is affecting creating other problems too like not sleepong and headaches and just thinking about my problems.

Has anybody else been through something similar? I know i should just not worry but i cant seem to help it

Any advise is much appreciated

Thanks

If you have a degree in a subject where there isn't any work then adding a masters won't do much to benefit you.

i have a 2.2 in software engineering but everywhere ive applied are asking for experience. i think the 2.2 is holding me back. im also worried that by the time i get a job i might have forgot some of the things i learnt

i wasnt the brightest person in the class but i worked incredibly hard and am pleased with what i got in the end

I was pretty stressed today so went to the gym and ran my little bottom off...

Feel much better now. Heads - clear'rer <<< (?)

Inactivity is your enemy and will exacerbate any stress or anxiety that you may have. Keep busy and force yourself to do things even if you really don't feel like it. It's hard but you'll see the benefit.
