HosePipe Ban (North West)

that's twice you've changed that figure 75% , 25 % or 40%, why one is accurate or are you making them up?

A lot of water has gone from the reservoirs, Crummock water (which isn't a reservoir) has been a lot lower than usual this last month, so I can imagine a reservoir would be struggling to provide what's necessary

:D I know - read about 6 reports and each had different quotes - started at 20% (then read another which stated that was a claim by the utility companies and to the actual figure is more likely double that). I then calculated the losses by United utilities (who improved their leaks by 27%) - so calculated the final figure from that.

Am I the only one that finds this completely ridiculous.I'm glad I live in Ireland.
All it means is I have to drive to the North to get fireworks :D

A Hosepipe ban can only mean one thing in the UK, some part of the Country is in for some serious flooding.

But it would still use less than a bucket of water wouldn't it?

Fill the bucket from the tap, and use that to feed the pressure washer? If the washer will actually feed from the bucket that is, not sure if it needs a running supply or can just suck from a bucket.

A power washer has a flow rate of 6-10 litres a minute and if its a industrial one it can be upto 40 litres a minute.

Im still going to use a hosepipe.

I pay to live in my house, i pay for the water bill and i paid for the hose.

So im going to use it.

Call me stupid or w/e, i really dont care.

Hosepipes are silly anyway... nobody actually needs them imo, so a hosepipe ban isn't unreasonable. Although I am slightly luckier than most in that a stream runs through the garden, so my garden won't go without water, but even if you don't have a stream/river, connecting drainpipes to water butts is a great way of saving water at least for garden use. Cars wash fine with a bucket and sponge.

Im not the only one in my area who is still going to use it.

2-3 houses either side have said they are going to use it, so i doubt they will grass me in. Which is the only way they are going to know.
