HosePipe Ban (North West)

some d!ck just shouted over to me saying "i could get £50 for reporting you!" what a joke, lets waste £50 on some scum bag who hasnt worked a day in his life.

Since ive had no official warning from the company that there is a hosepipe ban in place ill sleep easily tonight :D

I'd assume that unless he gets some kind of photo or other proof, the water company won't be able to take action, otherwise you could just go round reporting everyone and make a killing!
The current hosepipe ban does not prevent you from using a hose to wash or water animals (or to clean things such as patio, path, etc or even for filling swimming pools, water butts or watering cans). It *only* restricts the use of a mains-fed hosepipe for watering private gardens and washing private cars. NO commercial hosepipe uses are currently prohibited
Just put an animal in front of your car and you'll be fine.

... connecting drainpipes to water butts is a great way of saving water at least for garden use.

There is a STAGGERING amount of water available from water butts and the like. The last two days of rain here filled my wheelbarrow, which only has a tiny catch area, soon as i'm organised (12-18 months, tops ;)) i'm tapping into the guttering for some free water.

It's horrendous really considering the UK has something silly like over 60% of water leaks in it's pipes?? It's only 2nd in Europe to Hungary or Bulgaria or somewhere like that. They should fix the pipes, then the reservoirs wouldn't drain so quickly.

Yep thats what i read as well...quite silly really...i find it hilarious that these jackasses seem to think that a hosepipe ban is really going to solve the problem of water.

Anyhow we are surrounded by water...so how do we get these hosepipe bans??...

but they'd make a £950 profit after fining you ;)

I've received no official correspondence regarding a hose pipe ban, so I'd like to see them try and enforce it to be honest.

I couldn't believe how low some of the reservoirs near me were, when I was driving past today. One was almost empty.

Its not even been hot and has been raining the past few days.
