Manhunt in Northumbria on BBC

All these police and large blocked off area just seems to be such an overkill. He only has a shotgun, all you need is a few firearms police. If he shoots himself, so what.

What about to stop the people trying to enter the area? Which would then put the police, public and themselves at risk.

It isn't about him shooting himself, it is about containing him and ensuring public safety.
 
surely they need to send in some more tornados or maybe some tanks. Doesn't look like enough enforcements to me.
Maybe get SWAT in from america if they can and every policeman in England lol..

Because they were already there. They want to make absolutely sure that he's contained and that they have full control.
