Hi guys, does anyone have any experience in changing the standard Kettle lead on their PSU to a HiFi grade one and if so have you noticed any differences/benefits?

I am 99.9% sure that it doesnt, I believe it is like the £2 hdmi cable v £100 Monster hdmi cable which i believe resulted in a almost 0% gain by using the 'Monster' one.

They have hi grade expensive kettle leads?

Bit pointless having hi grade copper wires in your kettle lead if the copper in your walls, down the street and into the electricity station isn't also the same hi grade.

I think this is just to fleece people of their money.

Some could argue that hi grade cables are important for audio and what not but not AC power provision

The sound produced by your case fans will be noticeably crisper with enhanced fidelity in the mid ranges. Also your overclocks will be more stable due to a cleaner power feed to your PSU.

In a blind test however 9/10 people wont be able to tell the difference. The 1/10 people who can tell the difference are lying!

You must be new here, firstly, welcome. Secondly, save your money, it'll make zero difference. If you must change an old worn out one, just buy a normal one, they should all be fine.

Fair enough, perhaps you should head into the Home Cinema/Hi Fi section more, there's usually a thread debunking cable myths at least once a fortnight! If you're interested there's plenty there to read.
