Should I just go to M&S, Burton etc or are there places where I can get a better suit for my money? I think about £150 should be the budget, it's just for work so doesn't have to be anything flashy. Any good places?

My mate, works in the suit/shirt section in a large department store, told me that Hugo Boss and M&S use the same supplier. Not sure if that is true to the present day but anyways, they are very good for the price.

Avoid Topman. Burton are meant to be alright.

I personally like Zara as they are a slimmer fit.

I like slim fit suits, don't have one, but interested in maybe getting one of those? Someone told me I would be able to get a Ted Baker suit for a reasonable price?

M&S outlet, last one i bought jacket was originally £220 and trousers were £129. Got a jacket and 3 trousers for £150. (always buy 2 pairs of trousers then nipped in and they had reduced the other pair to £10)

Had some good suits from burtons in the sales but the never seem to wear to well.

Moss never been too good for me, pushy staff put me off. I like pin strips on suits and i am a bit of a porker, a light grey slim fit suit looks ******* awful but they always seem to recommend them. Good for shirts though.

Never liked next suits but there £20 pure cotton shirts were ok.

My brother in law swears by slaters, when i popped in with him seemed ok, there £60 suits are not fantastic but they adjust them FOC so they don't look to bad and last resonably well.

When I used to have to do the work suit thing, H&M were always the best fit/cut on the highstreet for me, very cheap to. But its dependent on your body shape I guess, just go and try loads on would be my suggestion.

£150 is half decent money mind and will get you an entry custom made suit from here: http://www.asuitthatfits.com/shop/index.php

I got my 'for best' suit from there, great company when I dealt with them, just got the other half to measure me all up sent them off, quite a long wait for the suit but really worth it, I looked great in it... until I put on a stone....

another vote for Marks and spencers... also- i bought a Ben sherman suit from Debenhams, and one of the legs was a whole inch wider than the other, ( so i obv sent it back).... M&S is deffo one of the best places ive found, for quality, value and choice. (from all the next suits ive seen in various stores, the QC seems to be lacking)

Slaters is good also, but from what i saw, a slightly older style of suits, but ofcourse the customer service is brill and they adjust FOC for life of the suit.

M&S are alright for daily wear but you can't beat a decent tailored suit.

Try oxfam and charity shops in general as well, I managed to pick up a really nice quality handmade suit for £30 once, I would've paid well over £200 from it in a normal shop.

Slaters.

Thats where I get mine from them. Very helpful staff, can get a new suit, shirt and good quality tie for about £150. I'd recommend them.

check out your local department stores and see what they have to offer, try a few on and find out which cut you find most comfortable and take it from there, personally i prefer Limehouse suits, have a few of my own and they didnt cost me a ton, got one for less than a hundred and my other 2 for 100-200 mark.
