iPod touch has gone crazy. Pics and video. Help please!!

Since the 3.0 update my ipod has gone all stupid on me. Every time i connected it to the pc it would crash and i would have to restore it. I cant use backup after restore because it will just reset again so i have to make a new ipod every time i connect it to the pc.

Now that the 4.0 ( i think) update is out. First time i connected it to the pc after updateing BOOM my ipod is now in Double Panic mode. I say this because the error on screen at the bottom says "Debugger message: Double panic" so i guess its in a panic state am i correct?

Anyway theres not much to say. It just happend while syncing. Heres a video and picture

Tried
Unplugging and resetting
Resetting while its plugged in
Smashing it against the wall
Repeatedly pressing the menu button
Repeatedly pressing the lock button
Repeatedly pressing the reset combination.

Haven't tried
Hitting it with a hammer
Throwing it away
Selling it on ebay for full price claiming it works

Your iPod has jacked into the Matrix.

Try reflashing the current firmware or updating it to the latest if you can, otherwise call Apple.

got it back to the "connect to itunes" logo so now im restoreing it. Its flashing small white lines around the screen (the symtom before this matrix thing happened)
IF it does it again ill call apple :) they havnt responded to my email.


Another note, my ipod is out of warranty.
 
That's a kernel exception. This means it's either the hardware, firmware or iOS4 crashing it.

I take it's not been Jailbroken, so iy sounds like a hardware fault. As it's happened with iOS3 and iOS4 (which flashes firmware etc) it's pointing to a hardware problem. Most likely a memory chip failure.
