Great places to eat in Brighton?

Going to be in Brighton with the other half for the next couple of days, i'd like to treat her some nice resturants

I will take her to the Fish n Chip resturant on the peir

But are there any nice Italian or Chinese resturants there? No Indian food, we both hate it
 
There's a nice Thai place just off Kings Road, cant remember what its called though =/ Would be good for lunch

Edit - I think it's the Orchid but I cant remember, was about 2 years ago
 
Get on a bus and go to Rottingdean, it's about 2 miles, there's a Thai restaurant called Ros Thai. I guarantee you wont regret it.
 
La Tasca if you fancy some Spanish food (165 North Street). Fat Leo is quite nice for a reasonably priced Italian.
 
There's Day's Oriental buffet restaurant if that's to your fancy. Coincidently, my mates and I have just come back from a day out in Brighton and we ate at umi Grill which is a hotel restaurant. We ordered a £12 full rack of BBQ ribs..

It's not really a "take your girlfriend here" kind of restaurant but I reccommend their food!
