I remember in the mid to late 90s, roller blades were the in thing to have.

The skates to be seen in were Bauer Turbo's. As I was a novice though I had to have some cheapo make.

There was another popular make which I can't remember. Crazy how trends come and go.

Because British kids would rather sit inside and play computer games :p

I'm sure it's popular elsewhere, as it's common in the USA and in France..

You see a lot of Black guy's doing it though dont you but then I suppose they look cool enough to carry it off.

Cant imagine me doing it though waltzing down my local high street with headphones on to boot. I'd look a complete tool. :D

And Ice skating was popular 1989-1990.

I used to spend 3 nights a week Ice-skating in my Bauers with many a female in my year just coming down to the local Ice arena in their hired out skates after me (to this day I still don't know why - but just because they knew I was reasonably fit and spent 3 nights at the local Ice Irena skating around in circles for hours at a time - they just had to take a trip down there and see me / give me a kiss etc..etc ;) )

our roads are full of pot holes , our paths arent much better , most skate parks are overrun by skate boarders and the weather is usually crap.

its no surprise they arent popular
