Heya guys, well I'm feeling the pinch in my pockets and it looks as if I am going to be needing some funds this summer holiday, any recommendations of websites which have quite a large variety of different jobs?

Job Centre is were I had the best experience. A lot of the independent websites are just spammed by sale bots daily for commission jobs.

Hit the high street and sign up to some of them penny pinching scum bag bloodsucking Agencies.

They will hook you up fast with 50% or less of the pay you deserve, screw you for tax and then smile at you.

totaljobs if you're looking for a well paid job professional job (software developer, manager, graphics designer etc.), if you're looking for general work, jobcentre plus is your best bet.

You're a bit late for holiday jobs. What sort of work are you looking for?
+1

I applied for summer jobs in late august, managed to apply for around 2 dozen jobs and from which, only 2 replied, one of which ended up in a job interview.

The manager absolutely loved me in the job interview, she was already talking about the hours with me and what the role is mainly about, salary etc. until the moment she asked me if I was a Student :( then it went completely downhill, since I couldn't possibly work the hours she was asking me to do over term-time.

After that interview, I just knew it was already too late for more job hunting (that was around mid June), so I doubt you'd get any summer job at this time.

Jobserve has been the best for me, followed by Monster then Totaljobs

In the week I get calls from agencies about every 2 or 3 days. Big agencies like reed use job sites so I personally dont think there is much point in handing in CVs in agencies.

-I just had another call from a small agency who is sending my CV on to an employee

You will get calls if you have a half decent CV and you have your profiles filled out properly with the sites

- dont bother asking for holiday/temp jobs, say you want a permenant job then leave

This is your best bet.

I tried this during the interview because I knew they were looking for permanent, so I did not mention anything about the fact that I am a student studying in a different city.

Unfortunately, I couldn't lie (It's in my nature not to lie) about it when she asked if I was a student and where I am studying etc.
