Hi all,

Can anyone reccomend good pet insurance atm we are with PetPlan
We have been with them since 2008 but they cost around £35PCM.
This is for 2 cats.(Moggies)

We have had a good experance with PetPlan over the 2 years but the prices are just silly now.

We pay approx £15p/m for my dog with morethan, I haven't had to deal with them but the cost was one of the better ones

Which would be £30 for two dogs - not muich cheaper than Pet Plan.
As I said in another thread on this.
The cheaper insurance policies tend NOT to cover your pet for life.
So if they get a long term illness they will get treatment for a year and that is it.
With Pet Plan you get covered for the treatment for the life of the pet so long as you continue to pay your yearly premium.

Just be careful when you move to a "cheaper" alternative.
Initially cheaper on paper but just make sure you're getting good cover.

Yes, read the small print and get cover. This may also mean the yearly vet checks and having up-to-date jabs.

I think I'm paying £9 for full-on cover for my middle aged female tabby cat.

It wasn't the cheapest, it was the most expensive at the time, on that site.

Also, checking the policy its £25 p/m not 15, so just ignore me completely :D

BlueTonic - are you with PetPlan?

Our girl cat is £17.43
Male Cat is also £17.43

We did have to use them with Smudge as he cut his back paw last year would this affect the rise in payment?

Cant seem to find any other cover (cheaper, that does life cover)

Go-catpare go-catpare!!!!1 with just a few miows from your miowwww box, you will be glad you went to Go-catcompare!!!!1111

Dont hava the feeeeeesh !

we are with more than, thundercat cost £7 per month but after his accident and the following claim (which they were very speedy at dealing with) it went up to £9.

Josie the new cat will also go on it once her free month has ran out but i dont no if they do 'multi cat' or anything like that.

cant recommend them enough, we had our cheques within 7 days of putting in for them.

Atm the gf and i are getting nice quotes but keep thinking we are paying extra for life pet insurance. I know that the cats are just over 2 years old now but the male cat is a muppet and accident prone so if something did happen and he became ill its going to be a nightmare to keep changing ever year etc.

I can't seem to find any other pet insurance with life cover.

actually it's probably £12 a month. I was with Argos and they changed their broker. On renewal it was a lot higher, but I haggled and they did me a good cover. The policy includes a like-for-like courtesy cat if yours breaks down.

I went with asda for our kitten less than £5 per month can't remember the exact monthly payment. Also some vets do payment plans I pay £10 per month and get free vaccinations, flea injections, claw clipping and worming plus cheaper vet fees and 2 health checks. I think all this would cost £150 per year.

Having just gotten our 3 kittens yesterday I've been looking at insurance for them. They come with a months insurance with pet plan (kittens are from the cat sanctuary) and obviously if you stay with them the charity gets a commission. All the "premium" insurance policies seem to come with all kinds of crap that I don't want. Bereavement counseling? really? I have no need for Boarding cover or holiday cancelation or any of that rubbish like overseas travel.

All I'd like is cover that will care for the pet if it gets ill or has an accident, for life.

Petplan is pricey, but it provides a large, annually renewable cover, which many of the alternative, cheaper providers don't. (they either have total cover limits, or per condition lifetime limits).

We're covered with pet plan for our Maine **** for that reason, as it was the cheapest for the sort of comprehensive cover we were looking for.

Ask rotty what he has, his bengal had around 5k worth of tests and the insurance paid up with no problems.

I was using E&L for max but had nothing but trouble when claiming.
