Hey guys, I am looking into purchasing a 5830 from overclockers for 163 pounds, I am looking for a graphics card that will play all games at a resolution of 1024*768 for now may upgrade to 1680* in the future any recommendations for a graphics card I dont want to be spending too much or is a 5830 overkill, also I am not looking into cross firing in the future.
Also which card a 5830 or gtx 460?

As you can tell from todays forum activity the gtx 460 is looking good. Both cards both sound a bit overkill to be honest, wait and see if 5830 will drop on price further. Is it for games? graphics design etc? if you are playing old games then I would have thought something like a 4850 would be pretty good and be fine at that resolution. I havent used this card myself but from what I've heard its performs pretty well.

Yep, I've been looking at the gtx 460 and it looks quite good, and mainly new games such as bfbc2 and just cause 2. I'm waiting to see if the 5830 drops in price to around the 150 mark

Even if it did, the 460 is still a better buy.
