Paypal

I notice that a lot of online shops are now offering to use Paypal...is there any advantage over a debit or credit card?

I suppose the only advantages would be one might feel safer paying with PayPal than handing over their card details to the retailer, and a retailer who only accepted credit cards and PayPal would be giving those with a debit card the possibility to checkout.

Most people know and have a paypal account due to ebay. So when they see paypal they automatically think its safer then the site processing their card.

No, thats completely untrue.

Its convenience. Username, Password, press confirm and then your done.

No need to type in name, address, card details etc.

Its just lazyness!

exactly.. i use paypal for small purchases like less than £15.. any more and i dont mind adding my info.

I use it sometimes when I don't have enough money in my current account. Then I have a few days to pay in, as my debit card is linked to my paypal account.

paypal is easy yes, but your risking it.
The PayPal policy is very unfair and you can find yourself out of pocket (if you are a seller atleast)

That's certainly true, but that's mainly because Paypal favor the Buyer, thus using PayPal as a way of payment is actually fairly safe, because they will side with you if something does go wrong.

Nexus, indeed, you are right there, many times i have been left in the mud, when i have sold an item, sent special delivery and able to provide Paypal with the recipients signature, paypal still refunded the buyer.
