Any recommendations for a USB flash drive to play HD video on a TV? My router isn't fast enough to stream it directly from my PC. It would need to be at least 8gb I would think to comfortably fit an entire film in HD...

USB Pen drives have never been good for this task, well the drives i have had anyway, i tend to use a USB 2.5" HDD now, get on the auction site and pick up a 50gb SATA hdd and an Enclosure from OCUK.

Are you using wired or wireless? A wired connection should have enough bandwidth for most HD content. What HD exactly in terms of bitrate etc? Illegal downloaded type, or blu-ray copied to HDD etc?

What's wrong with using pen drives for this (besides capacity)?

I'm using wireless to the TV, have a pants talktalk 'g' router which cant keep up with most video files. Eventually I will get a decent wireless router, but need something in the meantime which will handle anything I throw at it.

USB drives can be fairly slow, depending on which model you buy.

My advice is run a cable(s) to the router if you can until you get a better router and wireless adapters.
