HELP PLEASE! Just deleted a folder full of pictures and videos!

I accidentally deleted a whole folder using shift+delete so it did't go into the recycle bin. I need a way to recover them please.

Does anyone know any free software that can do this? Please help, I'm really desperate

Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuva

Unplug the drive and use it in a different PC so you do not take the chance of over writing the files when installing the program.

PC inspector has helped me a few times, Recuva is meant to be good too.

EDIT: Wow! All I can say is THANKS VERY MUCH!!! I was almost in tears lol. Everything was recovered intact!

Did you use Recuva?

I use all their free stuff but hopefully will not need to use Recuva.

Defraggler & C Cleaner are great little pgrogrammes.

I tried Recuva recently, not that impressed as it didn't get anything reported 'OK' to restore OK. It was all still corrupted. I tried EASEUS after that and it worked a LOT better. I guess it depends how long the files have been deleted, as they're quickly overwritten. Recuva might be OK if you use it immediately, and it's free, always a bonus.

Please, please, please please always back your stuff up if it's important! HDDs are not reliable enough to risk it.

And from now on make sure you have a weekly backup schedule to a USB2 drive (they're cheap anyway for a 1TB drive)!

I do backups weekly, its just that I had just taken the pictures and transferred them to my pc then managed to delete them from the memory card and somehow from my pc as well

That's why you need regular backups in more than one location. Hard to accidently delete something on an unconnected external HDD sat in a drawer in another room
