R.I.P

He was put down at 9.30am this morning so he will no longer suffer , kidney failure :(

That came on so quick , little sis will be in tears but it had to be done
Sorry the little guy didn't pull through Neil79, form the sounds of it he had a good life and wanted for nothing.

OP, do you have a photo of him at all?

Is that such a good idea with the overwhelming presence of insensitive ******** in this thread?

Obviously you don't have pets then

doesn't matter what it is, I own Guinea pig's and you get attatched to them like any other pet.

Rubbish...
If you don't have any supportive or caring words then i wouldn't bother posting if i were you.

Like Sinny says it doesn't matter what type of pet it is - as an owner who spends time loving and caring for the little guy you get attached.

I'd also like to add that Guinea pigs are particularly intelligent, involving and communicative pets that are a pleasure to keep! :)

I don't have any pics personally my sister probably has , to be honest i wasn't greatly attached to it it was my little sisters. However i feel her sorrow! . I did have a white one which was mine though , i could stroke his chin and he'd put his head up lol. Was well tame but he suffered greatly , don't think i ever saw such a painful way to die in an animal. But i shed a tear for his passing. When a pet is yours and you are attached to it , you cant help but feel some form of sadness if its a pet of a younger part of the family you feel for both.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your pig. my girlfriend lost one earlier this yer. He did very much the same thing as yours. Just stopped eating and never came out of his little house took him to the vets and they said he would be okay if we gave him a series of feeds and medicines in syringes. Feeding an animal thats in such a bad way via syringe isnt much fun. You could see that he had just given up. my partner couldnt cope sing him like that so I let her sit it out and tried my best to keep him going. But inevitably 24 hours after the vets he had gone.

I had grown a wee bond with him myself. used to help me out on computer as he was right beside my desk lol. Used to squeak if you tickled his sides or if you pated the little white bit on his head he would nudge you with his head.

Heres a picture of the wee chap.

Oh and can we not get these morons banned that have completely useless nonconstructive comments

One half of the Ginger and Pickles double act, guinea pigs extraordinaire. Both now passed on at the age of 5.

Couldn't see them in a tiny Pets At Home style cage so made them a 2 storey 5 foot long custom cage from corrugated plastic (e.g. estate agent 'for sale' signs) and metal racks for retail display.

Amazing how different their characters can be! Guinea Pigs are cool pets.
