It is with deepest regret that i inform you that one of my son's shubunkin goldfish passed away last night, Nicola had a lovely way about her, the way she would swim around the tank eating and stuff was mesmerising to watch.:D

But in all honesty he had two of these little critters (Darren and Nicola), obviously Nicola is no longer with us and now resides in the wheelie bin, however i must say that Darren is looking none too good this morning, do goldfish pine for their tank partners or is darren going to peg it soon too?

I must say that Charlie (My Son) took it really well when we told him Nicola had died, his response was "why dont you throw her in the bin then" and "when Darren dies can we have a snake or Goat instead"

My shubunkin died on Sunday too :( He or she was about 5 years old.

Mine others are find so don't think there mourning. Change some water and make sure your getting lots of air into the water as the hot weather reduces the oxygen levels in the water.

One has died and the other is starting to look a bit peaky, hmmm sounds like time to ask your son if he's put anything in the tank recently....

PK!

P.S. Oh and I'm sorry for your loss.

They will only mourn and philosophise on the reality of death for around 5 seconds before realising that they can't remember what they are thinking about.

Goats are a good idea, free raw milk everyday! Just go out with a pint glass and fill it up and gulp it down.

Your son is weird.

Nah, he's just a normal 4 year old who happens to have been to the farm on saturday and was feeding the goats.

AND...who wouldnt want a goat...infinitely more interesting than a goldfish, dont know where we would keep a goat mind since we dont have a garden, just a yard.

Goats eyes creep me out. Imagine them staring at you through the window at night.. no thanks.
