The one down the road (The West Meon or something or other) seems nice. It's a shame the Seven Stars don't take bookings. I'm not making the mistake of going in last this time

You miss the point. I don't have an issue with the price, if the food is decnet. If the food is microwaved turd, then I wish to pay microwaved turd prices for it, thats all. If the prices are proper prices, I'd expect proper food

Everyone? I don't remember seeing/hearing any complaints apart from you and your mothballed wallet.
Maybe if you have something other than burger and chips you may get something a bit better, granted first time you went you all moaned about the burgers being rubbish, but the people that didn't said it was a fair price for what they got.
The flower pots in Cheriton is an excellent pub just off the A272, they don't take cards but as you are aware of that in advance it need not be a problem. Big car park and they always used to do decent food. Onsite brewery for those that aren't driving too.

I think you're thinking of a different meet, all quite behaved on entry and exit from what I saw. Shenanigans are for the road not the pub that we plan to go back to

Share an experience with you, ask for spaghetti Bolognese and ask to have the spaghetti and the Bolognese separate. We did this for our little lad at one of these pubs, and the bloke at the counters face was priceless.
It is of course, microwaved, and probably from aldi or lidl or something, so he said "we cant do that" to which we enquired why, at this point he got very flustered and couldnt think what to say.
Was hilarious.
A very easy way of spotting if its just microwaved crap or properly cooked stuff. if they cant even cook fresh spaghetti, what hope have they got ?
Just a point on the food - isn't the Seven Stars a "Two for One" place? So if you're paying £9-odd for a burger, remember that the other meal is "free" - so you're only paying about a fiver for a meal, so for "microwaved crap" it isn't half bad
I only live 2 minutes away so I might turn up. Stick me down as a maybe. Not sure if I'll take the car or the bike so it'll either be a Z4 Coupe or DRZ400SM.
