I agree.
We need to see the exact numbers first then decide on a location. Once a location is decided, it will make chosing a venue easier.
It will be up to the committee to chose a location/venue. Will most likely involve some of us visiting venues to assess the practicalities.
As long as you want. I have a local LAN that lasts for a full Sunday, but the forementioned LeachLAN 5 was 5 days. (Thursday to Monday). (There was local accommodation, but most slept in tents, in the town hall garden.)How long do LAN partys last for?

Another suggestion is to make this not just a pc gaming lan.. if you are willing to put the extra time + effort in, having a console gaming section would probably bring additional people and help out those who can't get transport for their PC.
I could be interested in this, but I live in Kent which is miles from Stoke, Manc etc. Although I could tie it in with some comedy gigs in Manc...
