Wow..this thread has taken off pretty quickly :p

I'm up for advising and helping with networking issues. Can also do a bit of web design if anyone is interested (I do quite a lot of php/mysql/javascript freelance work on top of my standard web dev-y job).

I still have some of my equipment from fragM, including a 48port gigabit switch.

We need to see the exact numbers first then decide on a location. Once a location is decided, it will make chosing a venue easier.

It will be up to the committee to chose a location/venue. Will most likely involve some of us visiting venues to assess the practicalities.

Given the possibility of a free venue in manchester I would strongly suggest that as a venue :)

It also has very good transport links to the rest of the country.
 
Another suggestion is to make this not just a pc gaming lan.. if you are willing to put the extra time + effort in, having a console gaming section would probably bring additional people and help out those who can't get transport for their PC.
 
Added.

Can you add a note by my name to say I'd consider hiring a minibus to do a local-ish pickup if the demand warranted. Subject to contributions and boobies.

PFFFFT console gamers, not hardcore enough, separate sub forum, separate LAN meet! ;)

We dont want those freaks at our event :)

I could be interested in this, but I live in Kent which is miles from Stoke, Manc etc. Although I could tie it in with some comedy gigs in Manc...

Can I register interest depending on where you are holding it?
