O2 Simplicity £15 a month smartphone deal + £100 Cashback

Yes.
Currently ive got mine in a Nokia 6303 that ive borrowed until my iphone comes and its working.

excellent, thanks. I ordered one for her and quidco has tracked :)

I wonder if they will send her the normal sim, or do sims now come pre cut so you can pop out the microi sim when needed.

Saw it do this the other day then it came back on the quidco website a day or so later. Such a rubbish offer. Clearly problematic. I cancelled mine and then reordered and still not tracked.

Okay I received my SIM today. What's the best way for me to get my number ported over from my current O2 SIM? Should I just ring up and explain it all to the person on the phone? Should I be calling from the new SIM or my existing one?

dont need to ring them, just use this form:
http://shop.o2.co.uk/new-iphone/aboutsimswap.html
even if transferring one sim to the other, it will do it :)

Mine is still not quidco tracked on second attempt at ordering. Plus it's been 4 working days and still not recieved my sim! Argh! Not having much luck with this offer :( Hopefully get the sim this time and just start using it and put in a quidco query as to why it has not tracked in a month or so time.

Mines not tracked either. Will be taking it up with quidco eventually. Not having much luck changing my number over either.. I submitted the form online and it said it would take 1-4 working hours. That was last night  . It's not even started, both SIM's are working as if I haven't done anything.

took out my simplicty sim deal in april, it didnt track with quidco, had to wait two months to put a claim in, still waiting to be paid, validated 2 weeks ago.

I'm also having a nightmare with number porting. Spoke to a right unhelpful rude person on the phone today who was criticizing the way I had done things just because O2 would not match this cashback deal. Said I would NEVER be able to get my old number on to my new Simplicity deal. No possible way of "beating the system" like he accused me of trying to do. Can someone tell me the best way to port it accross? Do I need to get a pac and buy apay as you go on a different provider or with just O2? The above form someone linked to is to go from O2 PAYG to montly but the guy on the phone said that this would still not even work. I think he was being a ****er to be honest.

02 have removed the £15 a month for 12 months option :(

This is really annoying! I rang up 2 weeks ago to downgrade my package to this deal and they said to ring back on the 24th as thats when my next payment is due so they can do it then.

Was just about to ring them, double checked the offer and now its gone  I feel cheated.

Ring again. I have done the exact same thing and it was all done within 24hrs. You just need someone on the phone who knows what they're talking about! :)

Yep, they said exactly the same thing to me.

I rang back on the 24th and the offer was pulled at midnight on the 23rd.

Grrrr.......

OK so I finally managed to get my number ported. Went like this:

Objective = Cancel current rolling monthly out of contract pay monthly NUMBER1 and just use my new simplicity through quidco porting my old number (NUMBER1) accross.

Step 1: Ring O2 and get them to turn your current monthly rolling deal to PAYG. You will get sent a PAYG sim after a day or two. Tell them you want to maintain the NUMBER1 on the new PAYG.

Step 2: Transfer any contacts from your old sim onto new and phone and backup etc. Then whack the new PAYG sim (when you get ir after a day or two) into a phone and activate it. Top up the minimum £10 (you will get this bacK).

Step 3: Wait for the day O2 stated would be your number porting day. Wait till your phone with the monthly NUMBER1 number shows as sim inactive, or you get no O2 network thing up on the screen. Turn the phone off. Discard sim. Now your new PAYG sim will soon start working with the new number. Try turning it off for an hour, then on for an hour and keep going through the day until it picks up the new number. Won't take that long though.

Step 4: Once the new PAYG sim has your old NUMBER1 number on it and works, fill out the form on O2 website under "keep my number". Fill out the form that says you want to port from PAYG to a monthly contract. You can do this on the SAME DAY as when the above stuff sstarted working. I did mine straight away whilst still recieiving texts that my PAYG was just getting up and running. Do not worry if these texts overlaps, it still works. You will need the numbers on the back of your new simplicity sim (and new phone number you got provided with that you want to get rid of) and vice versa for your PAYG sim and NUMBER1.

Step 5: Wait 1 - 4 hours. You should notice that your PAYG sim becomes inactive or cannot sync with O2 network. Turn it off. Turn your new simplicity one off. Keep turning your new simplicity one on every half hour or so and leave it for a few minutes until that one states it is inactive or cannot sync with O2. When it does this, turn it off and then turn it back on every half hour or so until it states it can find O2 network. When it does this you should get a text welcoming you and providing settings for it.

This whole thing although it looks crazy, was fairly painless. It just involves waiting about a week from the initial phone call to the O2 porting day you get assigned. Otherwise easy. The guy on the phone that advised me there was no way of doing it and was really rude, well up yours mate. You also get refunded the £!0 credit you put on the PAYG although it may only show up as a credit on your next bill.

Done. Number ported.

As for quidco cashback, mine never tracked both times I tried. Gonna put in a payment request in a week or two when it lets me.

As I said before... the guy on the phone was bs'ing you :p . Mine went like this:

NUMBER1= SIM Only 1 month simplicity for smartphones, number to keep.
NUMBER2= SIM Only deal from this thread with quidco cashback, number to lose.

Rang up. Guy puts in request to different department to port my number.

Ported over NUMBER1 onto NUMBER2 SIM. Took a few hours with the turning on and off thing as you said.

Done :) .

You just got a complete jerk on the phone who didn't know what he was talking about.
