What is the 0.01% in 99.99% Water?

I've been looking at water filters and generators as i have moved back into the city and the water is awful (after drinking spring water in the country for years) it tastes like swimming pool water to me. Anyway, a lot of these filters/generators say 99.99% water.

Maybe this is an obvious question, but what is the other 0.01%? as the websites don't say. Are they simply referring to minerals in the water?

Probably anything that could have been in the water as filtering it doesn't guarantee it will be 100% pure...

Water has loads of impurities such as Chlorine and Chloral hydrate that may remain.

It is everything else the filter does not or cannot catch. They cannot guarantee 100% purity.

This is very true... you don't get bacteria's, minerals etc. that you get from normal water...

I think it's because if one molecule that should not be there WAS there, some idiot would try to sue for false advertising.

But it could be anything I guess. Soylent green?
