Hi all,

Ive got a LG50PK350 tv and I run my media pc to it with an ATI 5570. Now in the CCC I can force 24hz and 50hz no problem both work with 1:1 mapping etc, so perfect :) Now I would have it set at 24hz all the time as I only really watch 1080p/720p films anyway.

Now I have some tv series that are at 30hz+ so I take it they will stutter slightly on 24hz...?

Also Ive stuck a few games on to play with a controller so having the TV at 24hz wont really work with the games as they will need 50hz. Its easy enough to change the settings in the CCC but its a bit all a nightmare depending on what I want to watch.

So the question is, is there a quicker way of doing this at all or should I just stick it at 50hz and leave it? :p

Does your gear support 120Hz? That allows for 24 / 30 / 60 without stuttering. In most cases you can use 60 instead of 50

Its only 100hz :( Problem with 60hz on my set it seems to mess the colours up a little and doesnt allow 1:1 mapping which i need :)

Have you tried saving profiles ?

Now theres a point, why didnt I think of this, thanks mate :)

If you're using windows install reclock. This takes 24hz videos and speeds them up to 25hz. I use it because my 4 year old Sony LCD does not accept 1080p @ 24hz. So I have set my htpc to 1920x1080 @ 50hz and reclock speeds up 24hz to 25hz which is a multiple of 50hz. I get no judder the only thing you will suffer from is PAL speedup.

XBMC also has a feature built in that does the same things as reclock.

The trouble with Reclock is that it really doesn't work very well if you want to use DTS/AC3 passthrough.

XBMC was flawless in it's playback it's just a shame it doesn't do live TV (or BluRay for that matter) or i'd be using it all the time, and i don't have a keyboard/mouse on my HTPC so it's not easy to change.
