Why do none of your systems ever come with a decent storage system to go with the awesome CPUs and GPUs?

Don't think I've ever seen a pre-built RAID1+0 or RAID6 array in an OcUK machine.

Just seems that it would be a nice touch and compliment the rest of the system. I know I'd rather have that 1TB of space spanned across a blisteringly fast redundant array rather than a single point of failure drive.

Have to echo everything this fellow says. Offering RAID options on the systems would be amazing, though I guess if you inquire they will set one up to personal spec.

Oh, I thought I posted a comment on this, must've been deleted. Fair enough, wasn't a glowing recommendation, just a comment on the name.

hi there,

good question

we do offer raid arrays and in some cases, customers focus entirely on storage.

the problem is that a lot of people dont want them.
RAID0 is seen as giving no real benefit as a storage medium, especially since solid state has become more prominent. the other standard RAID levels are almost never requested.

people who buy the high end systems tend to contact us directly to discuss options and custom configuration. this allows us to suggest solutions that meet their computing needs.

i agree that a system like this with a nice LSI card and a bunch of ssds and high cap mech drives would be nice :)

Nope

NathWraith thought people should know about it twice for some reason :p

Oh, no problem, I was probably being stupid anyway.

Money no object, it's a great machine, but I'd echo the RAID comments above, if you really want excess that's the way to go! Sure tri-SLI isn't the best bang for buck, but if you want to set records you probably won't be disappointed!

It's OC'd to 4.2, not much more performance can be gleaned from it surely! Imagine the price of adding an 6-core CPU though, would fit in with the system's ethic.
