New 360 dashboard coming

A set of images that hit the Internet last night showing off a slightly reworked dashboard for the Xbox 360 seems to show the same changes seen in images Kotaku posted of the Family Center, due out in November. Those images, found here and here, were provided to Kotaku by Microsoft.

The changes seen in the images include slightly smaller text for the menu options and presenting the sub menu as a series of side-by-side images rather than images that drop away from the screen.

Looks like the 360 is trying to take on a more sophisticated look, too bad everything is centered around their gimpish avatars.

Is that real? I notice the gamertag is "Shapstick" which sounds like it could belong to John Schappert, who was some boss man at Microsoft who introduced the NXE. He's been at EA for over a year... Personally I think they are early prototypes of the NXE.

Yep I hate NXE just give me the option to hide all the pages I'm not interested in. I just want the friends list and my xbox, the rest I annoying navigate over what seems like 6 pages to get between them unless I use the guide and old route.

I hope they sharpen up the icons and text, a 1080p native dash would be nice.

As long as I can still use the guide button with the blades I don't care. I'm the same as dannyjo I just wish I could hide all the avatar stuff.

I wish they'd stop their efforts with gimmicky stuff like Facebook on 360 and instead sort out the painfully slow interface, especially when you write messages to people or are skipping through menu options. The two second pauses irritate the hell out of me!

Great a family friendly dashboard now all the little racist gimps that scream down the headsets can bring their mummys and daddys.

There was nothing wrong with the first dash tbh

Is it not a 'before and after' shot?

Personally I don't mine NXE and I never got that used to the blades interface. I think they changed it because it wasn't that flexible when adding more and more content.

Oh great. Now it's time to yet again try to figure out just where the hell all the options are :rolleyes:

I swear it took me about 5 minutes to figure out where my online status options were when NXE came out :mad:

I agree with this, When you first turn it on, That Xbox 360 logo is sexy HD, Then the bland NXE desktop hits. pfft

Two things that I want them to improve are...

- Bring able to subscribe to titles. So you can choose titles you are interested in and have the content delivered to your dashboard. It is too easy to miss information about games you are interested in at the moment

- Quick download option for free items. I hate you cant just click download to download free videos/trailers, you have to wait for the confirmation to pop up and load then click again.
