US senators demand BP records on Libya lobbying

I say we go to war with the Americans over this, reclaim our colonies, restart the empire and sort the world out properly.

This might just be crazy enough to work.... Give the afgans some tech, force more americans in to battle, pull out of afganistan, attack US.... Long live the empire!!!*

*Not really going to happen

I don't understand the US governments constant moaning at BP, who are working hard to stop the leak and have pretty much said "yeah this is our fault we'll pay the bill", Obama keeps complaing like BP are trying to dump responsibility - give em a break, they want it fixed and will pay the bill.

The yanks are just peeved that they haven't been able to get a slice of the Libya pie. Must be the best and only good thing a scotish minister has ever done for the good of the UK.

Someone should point out to the Americans that 39% of BP shares are owned by Americans (40% for the UK) and that they are only hurting them selfs!

Exactly what I thought... You read this -

The senators said that the American public deserved to know whether "justice and punishment for terrorism took a back seat to back-room deals for an oil contract".

Wow... They have the brass-neck to say this after Iraq and its "we invaded for their WMD's and not their oil" ??

Smoke and mirrors anyways. Helps them keep the "them and us" position going with the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster. Even Obama has started calling BP "British Petroleum" in the last few days... All political BS.

After Obama and his Senators have finished trying to improve their approval ratings at the expense of BP, the hypocrites will be back in the mire. It's only a temporary fix for them but BP will swallow this bitter pill and be back in the money very soon I think.

I'd love to see British MP's taking US company chairmen to task for the credit crunch with the same vitriol.
