So, I've been offered a job through an agency, but i'm not too sure what to do:

1) How do I go about haggling the salary? Am looking for a little more than they are offering.

2) I have other interviews lined up, so how can I stall the agency with my decision?

3) If I did take the job, I need to take holiday during my notice period - anyway I can get around this?

Depends on how much you want this job over the others, the fact that you are worrying about stalling says to me that you aren't convinced by this offer.

Depending on your salary, on initial contact with the recruitment consultancy - start negotiations high.

Make sure you have booked the holiday off. Either way you will use the holiday as part of your notice or get it in your final payment. In your case you will have to use it.

The agency put me across at 26k, theyve offered me 28k but I'd like 30k! - the benefits are slighty less (pension 7.5% vs my current 11%, also no season ticket subsidy)

wasnt my fault! you know these agencies put you across lower than you want! :(

That isn't true as they generally run a commission element so higher is better for them as well as you.

Improved salary - Explain to the Agency that you believe that you're worth 32 grand but in order to smooth things over and get an agreement in place that you'll accept an improved offer of 30 grand.

Stalling to allow other interviews - Due to work commitments you cannot make an immediate decision as you need to talk the offer over with your GF/wife/family. This'll buy you some time.

I've no idea on the holidays - maybe a HR bod on here could help?
