So who's got an XBOX "Slim" coming this week?

Just hit HMV in full force with my 60gb Elite for the £89 trade in, only to realise the SD cable was AWOL and I'd have to pay £100 for the new one. Oh well, £11 ain't much, got me a slim now :D

Sorry, I cannot look at that site at work, what licenses are you talking about?

I am confused. Do you not just get your new console, sign into it and retrieve your old account and away you go?

It's the DRM for your downloaded stuff, essentially the keys that unlock them for the console otherwise you can only use them whilst logged into your own account. Mostly I need to register it so I can redownload my Forza 3 LE downloads anyway, rather than that stuff, as I had to delete some of it to fit my memory stick.

After it redownloads the licenses and games so they work fully on the console.

So what's the process for doing it? How did you mess it up?

I'm only interested as I might get a slim if HMV still do the good trade-in price at the end of July, and I would like to know what I need to do prior to getting my console.

Do you need both consoles next to each other? You talk about not registering your Elite?

I have just been given one of these for my birthday.. It feels very cheap !! ... A couple of pics as no-one is posting any....lol Its fatter than the normal 360.

Didnt think it wouldnt have an Ethernet cable. Lucky I have one.

Seems really small to me. I didnt like the design on paper but it looks great in real life. I think I was just imagining it bigger with that design. Because of its size it seems perfect. Mine is whisper quite and running from disk is about half as quite then my elite which was a jasper. Very impressed.....much more then I thought I was going to be. The touch sensitive buttons are really sensitivity which is great.

D-pad seems more tactile as well.

It was never actually supposed to be a "slim" console, that's just what people started calling it so why so surprised over it being longer than the original 360?

and it feels more sturdy than the 'old' 360, certainly not cheap.

Feels cheap flimsy and plasticy to me...

Its very quite though..

Just didn't pay attention, and check the codes it threw at me, hence my I messed it up. It's simple enough, tells you to sign in on the new console and it'll detect it, it didn't! But hey, my fault for clicking next after that. Hopefully MS can sort it ut, else I have to wait a year... No, just upgraded my Premium to an Elite for the Jasper internals, didn't bother registering it, since I just used my old HDD anyway. Didn't need to trabsfer anything, new HDD demanded it, so I want it al set-up properly really, and need it to redownload some stuff, else adding it to the queue won't work.

Now I am confused. :/

Do you need access to both consoles at the same time?

I agree. My jasper elite is a creaky old thing. For a £200 console the build quality of mine seems fantastic.

Hefted mine earlier and whilst it feels solid it does feel cheap. The plastic isn't very good quality and it fingerprints very easily (although that's not a build quality issue).
