**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I was about to digital download/buy (pre-download), but the region thingy put me right off.
Dont like the idea about being confined to a region, especially since I travel a lot and would like to play wherever i end up.

I was just minding my own business, buildings probes, when JESUS CHRIST 400 LINGS IN MY BASE

I managed to hold it off, but it was probably the longest ling rush of all time. I had lings in my base for about 7 minutes, just barely surviving by chrono boosting my warp gates to make 2-3 zealots at a time. It wasn't for a while that I realised more gateways would've really helped. :o

But yeah, really funny game because my opponent and I are really bad. Well, I don't think I'm as bad as him because his money rarely dropped below 1000 for 3/4 of the game. :p

That was a pretty good save there, you kept your head while slowly out macroing and microing your opponent.

Always satisfying those kinda of victories. I probably would have build 1-2 less sentries and a couple stalkers. Because although the stalkers go down quickly if they are surrounded by lings, they do make him pay a price for kiting. The sentries you built, probably on balance, didn't help too much.

True about the sentries. I was determined to trap the little buggers in with my zealots but I couldn't get enough sentries and zerglings move too fast. Stalkers would've been a better choice I agree. Plus I knew the inevitable roach push was coming soon so I needed the forcefields to keep them out of my base.
 
scotty, havnt got round to checking the replay yet, didn't get back till late! will check it out when i get home tonight, so around about 3:30ish :)
 
Starting to find mp really annoying. Just getting nuked by a rush all the time! Surely people winning in the first 2 mins all the time must get bored?

I socut and scout and I try prepare ground they go air and vice versa, sooo annoying

When I spectated your games in that tourney we had a few months ago, I noticed your build order was...not ideal. Maybe watch some pro games and copy the opening they do?

Phase 2 is MUCH harder than Phase 1. Apparently the match making has been much more conservative (i.e. you get promoted/demoted much less regularly) ~ 35 games.

I think that means you've got higher skilled players in lower leagues than before.

I was platinum at the end of Phase 1, and I'm Gold now and at around 50% w/l. So it's definitely gotten tougher for me.
 
what gets me is that it put me in gold when before i was in silver at the end of phase1 , i was not in silver long as i got promoted from bronze . will give it another try tonight
