I am looking to build a computer that (if I decide to) can be used as a hackintosh and as such the most compatible boards are Gigabyte P55 boards with the ALC889A Chip.

In the current Gigabyte P55 boards, they use the ALC889 Chip (note the missing A) so I have found the GA-P55-UD5 which seems to fit the bill. I have seen it online for £114 or on an auction site for £100 (used for a few hours according to the description).

Is this a good board and is it worth the money? I have noticed that it doesn't have USB3 but not too fussed about that. Is it worth saving £14 to get it second hand?

Thanks in advance.

I have had one since November 2009, have an i5 750 @ 4.1GHz, has been a very good board, plenty of features on it, I reckon it's worth the money if you need the features it offers...

I don't think it is worth it, I would pay the extra £14 for a new one, as it is not worth taking the risk by paying that kind of money for a motherboard off ebay...

Thanks for the replies. On further investigation, even though the seller says it's only been used for a few hours, I don't believe him. He has the same thing on another motherboard he's selling and some other computer bits. When I emailed to ask about this, he said it's been taken out of a new computer and was upgraded (but is in it's original box and has all the original accessories sealed, etc) so don't believe it at all.
