been looking for a decent chair as these cheap 49.99 'leather' chairs dont last me very long maybe a year and a half if i'm lucky, now i'm wondering if any 1 has baught 1 of these luxury office chairs from the bay?

I always like posting in these;)

First thing avoid garbage like staples, ikea etc

Ebay is your best bet to get a real quality chair, at a reasonable price. But avoid those "luxury office chairs" type thing they will fall to bits in a year or so.

Avoid things like the herman miller aeron, whilst they are better than your standard budget chairs, their ergonomics is outdated by today's standards.

What's your budget?

Something like

All the above are cracking chairs, which will last for many years. And at very good prices as well.

You might get lucky with a cheap chair. I got one from Staples for £50 that was very comfortable and lasted for over 3 years.

But it's more likely to be a waste of money. The £60 chair I bought to replace it was less comfortable than perching on a £5 stepladder.

So I bought an Ikea Markus. The back is the highest of any chair I checked, and I checked a couple of dozen in various shops. The seat is comfy, the back is well shaped, the chair is made from solid components, the back and seat tilt semi-independently...it's all good. My biggest criticism is that I would have liked more padding on the armrests towards the back. It's a little hard if I have the chair on full tilt and my elbows resting there. Lengthy usage is fine - 10 hours sitting is no problem. I've slept in it several times.

I'm sure you can get better chairs. But not for £109.

Any bucket seat racing chair is super comfy.

Ive recently been thinking of one of these ever since I tried on out at the MPH Show at Earls Court, Unfortunately I cannot remember the make but I do remember it was a tad expensive but off the scale for comfort.

There are many similar make of these bucket type chairs, im still pulling my hair out trying to remember the manufacturer.

Love my Herman Miller Aeron.

Cost more than a chair should but I got fed up with crappy quality chairs previous to it, which weren't exactly cheap at around £80 a piece.

After looking for a new chair to replace my old one which looked like a bomb had hit it, I ended up getting this while it was on offer:

Black leather:

Cream leather:

Extremely comfortable and worth spending money on getting a good chair. :)

That does look comfy, although I'd want a fabric one.

Just looked at the black fabric version for £165 or I could get a red fabric one for £88 and chuck a blanket over it!
