Definitely this if you're looking for a Diablo style game. I must have over 250 hours on Titan Quest by now - brilliant game. If you go for it make sure you get the community patch from the titanquest.net forums.

Oblivion: This, mod it up and have hours of fun. I think I've racked up a few hundred hours playing it.

Strategy - another vote for the Dawn of War. The original has a great story and it easy enough to get into, while managing to feel suitably epic.

^^ this + winter assault/soul storm expansions, if your after story and gameplay.

Then play Dawn of War - dark crusade when your in the mood for a long haul "strategy" version of the game.

Fallout 3 is epically good. It's not neccessarily one on one combat but normally several on one. It's also very good just to roam around and I'm very much looking forward to the new Fallout which is out soon (I hope anyway)

Oblivion I couldn't get into for several run throughs but then I suddenly 'got it' (changed from trying a wizard to a warrior and it suddenly got a hell of a lot easier!). But it is a very good game - similar in ways to Fallout 3. If I had to choose one or the other though I'd personally go for Fallout.

Planescape torment but I presume you've played that already.

Sadly there weren't any games recently that I'd call epic apart from tf2.

Try hidden source mod for hl2 if you have not heard of it or zombie panic source.

I find hl2 mods, which are free, are better than any retail game that hits the shelves these days.

Oh and if you liked company of heroes, try out Men of War, fantastic game if you like that sort of gameplay.
