Ok, so the other month I built my dad a pc using old parts I had and some stuff off the members market.
The spec was something like this:
Asrock P35 chip mobo
Corsair value select 2x2gb ddr2 ram
Western digital 7200rpm drive
E5200 dual core cpu
9800gtx gpu
Dark power pro modular power supply 550watt
Now, I am trying to downsize and at the moment I have a 850 watt HUGE antec power supply that only fits in certain antec cases (like my 1200). What I want to do is use the Dark power pro from my dads system and buy a cheaper power supply for his.
Basically could I trust one of these OCUK swift power supplies to not explode and kill my dads kit? I realise the 9800gtx is power hungry and total overkill for what my dad needs, it was just the only thing I had lying around. Perhaps I would need to sell the 9800 and get a more suitable card on MM?
Also do you think 550 watt would be shaving it too close with my rig below (in my sig)? I put it into a psu calculator and got a minimum of 500watt and a recommended of 549watt D:
