Hello,

I am looking to get a short video made of a marriage proposal which will be shown in a cinema.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a company to go with to make this happen? I am based in London.

Thanks!

I do know people but I can't think of anybody who's going to be cheap - what sort of quality are you looking for (and I suppose, how much are you prepared to pay?)

Im looking for something around 30 secs - 1 minute. I dont really have much of a budget in mind, what do you think i could get for around £1000?

Also any suggestions for the script of the video are much appreciated!

Thanks!

I imagine you'll get something done for that, probably to a decent standard too. You might struggle to get real pro work for that but it should be to a good standard.

Depending on the production values you want (ie. if it's for business use and will reflect on your company think carefully) you could consider speaking to one of the film schools in London (there are lots, many very good indeed) and see if some of their students might be interested in doing it. They'll likely be happy to do it for half that and they'll be more willing to spend time getting it right for *you*.

Just as an option, for a comparison, I shot a few photos for a relatives company a year or so back and they produced a 3 minute video at the same time, my Cousin (who's a professional editor) offered her input for free and it still cost a little short of £10k I believe. That was a fairly slick production to be fair, they spent a long time filming retakes and different angles so I'm guessing it was about 2-3 hours of footage edited down to 3 minutes. Gives you an idea for business purposes at least...

I only really deal with feature and television programme production companies and I wouldn't recommend any of the smaller companies I've done work for, I think your best bet would be to get in touch with a uni or film school such as NFTS, who are very professional from my dealings with them.

Professionally it's proabably more than £1000. I'd say email film schools/universities, say that you have that budget and ask students to send you proposals with a budget breakdown included so that you can see what kit is being used aswell. They'll have their own uni kit so that will save on the costs.

For an idea of rates:
